Hurry Up and Wait

One of the more frustrating aspects of being an entrepreneur is that of moving faster than those around you. This is due to the entrepreneurial mentality of making decisions with limited information and trusting your gut. We’ve all seen it before: hurry up and wait. This phenomenon is present with many constituents including:

  • Partners
  • Investors
  • Customers
  • Employees

My advice for entrepreneurs is to have several initiatives in motion such that while you’re moving so fast, and waiting, progress is bound to happen due to the law of averages.

    I have a prototype of my item I want to market. What is my next step? I don’t have a business plan because I want to directly sell the item to a marketer. How do I trust someone not to steal my idea? It is a product that is highly marketable crossing all lines of age, race, male or female.       I’d recommend reaching out to your local chamber of commerce or small business center and getting their advice.

    I love this article. And I am guilty of it – probably to a fault at times. I’ve totally felt this pain before and still feel it quite often. I’m now a bit numb to the fact that things (like those listed) will take a while to get done.
