3,000 Posts, and Time for Something New

Today marks blog post number 3,000! I’ve been blogging daily for over eight years and it’s time to mark the end. Early on, I did it as a challenge to myself. Can I blog daily for a week straight? A month straight? Then, it took on a life of its own.

So, what’s next? I’m still going to blog, but instead of one per day, I’m only going to blog when I have a topic or idea I really want to share. In addition to the normal short posts, I’m going to do longer, more detailed posts.

Writing is cathartic for me. I enjoy sharing a thought that I found useful or interesting. I enjoy comments and ideas, especially when I’m wrong or there’s another dimension I need to understand. It isn’t always easy, but it is always valuable.

Here’s to the first 3,000 posts, and many more.

So long, and thanks for all the fish.

please please tell me one thing. How much time you invest in writing a blog a day. Blogging takes long time and no ROI in short duration. I am not super rich no no where close to you. So i feel you have attained most of the milestone for life and would be investing x time to bog. But then you are also might be 1000 times more busy that me. Can people like me think of blogging. I have tried earlier and did write 100 blogs. Or people like us should deprioritize it as its return is not there in short time.

I spent 20-25 minutes per day doing it. For me, it’s a way to share ideas and learn.

Congrats David!! 3000 is a HUGE accomplishment that very few could ever appreciate. Many people have thoughts, ideas and opinions. However, to transfer that information into written form is true intellectualization. Your sharing has been positive for me over the years. Either with you sharing your approaches to success that were aligned with mine OR you sharing others works that expanded my realm of awareness.

I look forward to your future “deeper” posts..and say Thank You for your contributions to the entrepreneurial microcosm.

Thanks for all the great posts, David! Your blog has been part of my daily reading list for years. It really is impressive. And you’ll never know how many entrepreneurs you have helped along the way. You certainly have helped me. Can’t wait to see your long form posts!

    Hi David,

Your short posts are more useful. By just spending less than a minute you can gain immense knowledge. It would be great if you can start reposting your old posts.

    Hi David,

I don’t believe we’ve ever met, but I was part of the ExactTarget family when Pardot came onboard. Left Salesforce a little over a year ago to try my hand at a startup in Indy, working with Scott D. and High Alpha to get it going.

I’ve really really enjoyed your blog. Forward them around all of the time. Thank you for taking the time to write it and for sharing your advice, learnings and wisdom.

Best of luck in what’s next! Ben Pippenger
