Recently an entrepreneur asked what he should be doing to make his company better in 2017. I asked a few questions about the long term, the short term, and challenges right now. Quickly, it became clear that there were some foundational basics that needed to be done.
Here are three things every entrepreneur should do:
- Simplified One Page Strategic Plan – Entrepreneurs have so many ideas in their head, only the rest of the team needs a plan, albeit as simple as possible while still being effective. Enter the Simplified One Page Strategic Plan.
- Weekly Metrics – Whether it’s seed stage metrics, early stage metrics, or growth stage metrics, metrics should be tracked and discussed weekly.
- Meeting Rhythm – Don’t have meetings just to have meetings. Be intentional about meetings through a consistent rhythm and focus.
